Our College Policy with regard to infectious illness
All students and course models are asked to re-arrange their training if they have any form of infection/contagious disease (such as flu or stomach bug).
We will reschedule the training, as long as reasonable notice is given.
Similarly if any of our tutors are ill, with any form of infection/contagious disease, students are informed as soon as possible.
In either case, we suggest at least 48 hours after the infection has cleared up before the course can go ahead.
PLEASE NOTE: If you or your model arrive for the course with any form of contagious disease your course will not proceed and your course fee will be forfeited.
This is particularly important during this time of Coronavirus.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy
Gentle Touch Therapy Training College
All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
We hope you are all staying optimistic and safe. While we have been in Lockdown we have put a number of measures in place for all our safety and wellbeing.
WE have missed being able to offer you the courses that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.
Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the college we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to make you aware of.
During the time the college has been shut, we have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry.
We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.
If any of our tutors feel ill, and in particular if they have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the college.
We will endeavour to run the course with an alternative tutor, but it may mean that we have to postpone your course at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your course is postponed you will be able to re-schedule as soon as a tutor is available to conduct the course.
If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE COLLEGE FOR YOUR COURSE. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for postponing a course which you miss due to illness at this time.
Visiting the College
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we will be conducting one-to-one courses ONLY until such time as a vaccine is available for Covid-19. We ask that you provide a model for the course and that they be from your own household (or “bubble”) if possible.
We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the college including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each course.
Where applicable, all tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.
Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally-friendly, single-use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.
You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the college and we will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the college.
We will understand and not be offended if you wish to wear a face mask or wear disposable gloves when you visit the college and during your course, if this is appropriate.
Please don’t be surprised or upset if our tutors use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your course. This may include disposable gloves/face masks/aprons where appropriate.
We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority we can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C
All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between every day
We have carried out a risk assessment on all courses and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely, once we are allowed to re-open.
During your course
Our tutors understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of each treatment.
We will try to make your course as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your course please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.
After the treatment
All courses are paid for in advance.
In order to avoid handling cash (eg for course kits/products), we would prefer if you could pay for this using bank transfers/Paypal.
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our tutors.
We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
Thank you for your understanding.

May we wish you all the best of health & wellness.
