In case you did not catch the announcement by our prime Minister Boris Johnson earlier today, amongst many other things, he said :
“On Saturday 1 August, you’ll remember, we had hoped to reopen in England a number of higher risk settings that had remained closed. Today, I am afraid we are postponing these changes for at least a fortnight.
That means that, until 15 August at the earliest:
Casinos, bowling alleys, skating rinks and remaining close contact services must remain closed.”
Please follow this link to read the full statement :
So far as Close Contact services are concerned, the following therapies/treatments which were due to resume tomorrow cannot now resume until 15th August “at the earliest” .
- face waxing, sugaring or threading services
- facial treatments
- advanced facial technical (electrical or mechanical)
- eyelash treatments
- make-up application
- electrolysis on the face
- eyebrow treatments
- intricate detailing, outlining or shaving of beards
- advanced beauty therapy and aesthetic treatments (this does not apply to medical settings)
(NOTE: This list is not exhaustive. If you do any other facial treatments, these are also included, as are the facial part of other treatments, such as Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candling, Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Pregnancy Massage and other massage therapies).
It also means that we cannot yet offer you training in:
- Facial Waxing
- Holistic Facial treatments
- Eyelash and Brow tinting
- Eyelash Extensions
which we had hoped to re-introduce from tomorrow.
We can still deliver courses which include some element of facial work, where this is an optional part of the treatment, by leaving that section out. So you can, for instance, learn Swedish Massage but not the finishing facial part of the routine.
We look forward to welcoming you back to college when you are ready to add to your skillbase.
